A robbery gone bad was what waited for a young man in desperate straits needing to provide for his family, especially on Christmas Eve.
With no job and no money the young man made the decision to seek out a few dollars from wherever he could and using what means he had at his disposal. After all he just needed a little bit of money to provide even a meager Christmas for his kids.
When he came upon George’s garage he figured he could make a quick hit. However, he did not count on the police officer he encountered outside. More importantly he did not count on what he found inside the office and the type of reception he received. What appeared to be a robbery gone bad would have a lasting impact not only on the young robber’s life but on George’s life too.

The officer laughed and winced at the same time. The front door of the office flew open. In burst a young man with a gun. “Give me all your cash! Do it now!” the young man yelled. His hand was shaking and George could tell that he had never done anything like this before.
“That’s the guy that shot me!” exclaimed the officer. “Son, why are you doing this?” asked George. “You need to put the cannon away. Somebody else might get hurt.” The young man was confused. “Shut up old man, or I’ll shoot you, too. Now give me the cash!” The cop was reaching for his gun. “Put that thing away,” George said to the cop. “We got one too many in here now.” He turned his attention to the young man.
