Income Opportunities - Passive Income
Passive income in the United States is defined by the Internal Revenue Service as income from trade or business activities in which you do not materially participate. In other words, income keeps coming your way with little or no effort of your part. Passive income may include rental income from property you own. However, if you spend a great deal of your time on actively overseeing your rental properties, you may be more into active income rather than passive income.
Some people have come to believe that internet income is passive income. There is the “pie in the sky” dream of putting up a website and the money starts rolling in. While that is what many pitch sites would have you believe, this is not what typically happens.
Passive income from the internet
Blogging is perhaps one of the quicker routes to earning passive income from the internet. With blogging, you will need to consider the following:
- What will you blog about?
- What name will you give to your blog?
- Where will my blog be located on the internet?
- What information will you share with your readers?
- How do you get readers to my blog?
- How can you make money from your blog?
While you can begin blogging for money with a very small start up investment, it can take some time and effort for your blog to reach the point where it is making significant income where you take more of a hands-off approach.
You can achieve some level of blogging income whether you have 40 hours per week to work the program or just a few hours after work or on weekends.
If you are completely new to blogging and internet marketing, you will need to do some research for instruction on how to get started. Almost everyone involved in blogging agree there are necessary basic steps to follow. Once the basics are out of the way, then branching off into other areas would be justified.
You will want to search for a course that will give you adequate instruction for the level of a newcomer and will augment some of that instruction with video tutorials. In addition, you will want to be part of an active forum that does not hesitate to help others when needed.
With the willingness to invest your time in educating yourself regarding internet blogging and search engine optimization, you will soon find yourself on the path to passive income.
